Community Invited to Participate in December 13 Meeting and Interactive Online Forum

The City of Oregon City invites all Oregon City community members to help develop a plan for the future of the South End area.  Residents and businesspeople in South End as well as the City as a whole are encouraged to engage in this important planning effort by participating in community meetings and providing their feedback online.

“This is an important opportunity to shape the future of our community and we encourage everyone to voice their goals and priorities,” says Project Manager Pete Walter. “We know that the more community members engaged, the better the plan.”

The City will hold a public meeting on Thursday, December 13 between 5:30 and 7:30pm at McLoughlin Elementary School, 19230 South End Road.  Staff will provide a short overview at 6:15 pm to help inspire discussion. Refreshments will be provided and all ages are welcome.  Also on December 13, the City will launch an interactive community forum online for people who are unable to attend the meeting in person.  The interactive forum will be accessible through the project website: www.southendconceptplan.org.

In this early phase of the project, the City and Community Advisory Team hopes to identify what people like about South End today.  They are engaging the community to understand what is important to consider for present and future generations.

Participants in both the public meeting and interactive forum will have the opportunity to comment on maps and give guidance on issues ranging from community character to transportation and housing. Background and other project information is currently available on the project website. It also includes a short video and survey where people can provide input to help guide the community planning effort.
